Alyeska POS

Terms

Terms of use and sale

1. Using this site

alyeskapos.com (the "Site") is operated by Alyeska POS. By using the Site you agree to these terms. The Site is for business owners and operators in Alaska who are considering or buying point-of-sale systems and payment services.

2. Prices and orders

Prices on the Site are in U.S. dollars and do not include applicable tax. Shipping to U.S. addresses is free. Hardware you buy is yours once it is paid for. Software is billed monthly per location and can be cancelled any month; annual plans are billed in advance. An order placed through the Site is an offer to buy; we confirm it when we contact you to schedule the install. If a price on the Site is wrong, we will tell you before we charge you and you can cancel.

3. Card processing

Card processing is provided by a payment processor under its own merchant agreement, and every merchant account is subject to that processor's underwriting and approval. The interchange-plus and cash-discount pricing described on the Site is our pricing for that service; interchange and network fees are set by the card networks and pass through at cost. The cash-discount program follows the card networks' rules: the posted price is the cash price, the card price is disclosed before the sale, and the service fee appears on the receipt.

4. Hardware, warranty and returns

Hardware sold on the Site is commercial equipment covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Our optional hardware-care plan adds advance-replacement swaps and accidental-damage coverage as described on the pricing page. Unopened hardware may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund; hardware that has been opened, configured or installed may be returned within 30 days for a refund less a restocking fee of 15%. Contact us first so we can arrange the return. Full details are on our shipping and returns page.

5. Installation and support

Installation, staff training, remote support and network monitoring are included with every kit as described on the Site. Remote support is available during our published hours and by arrangement outside them. On-site visits outside the Anchorage area may involve travel costs, which we will quote before we schedule them.

"Network monitoring" means availability monitoring: we watch whether the gateway and the internet connection are up so we can respond to outages. It is not security monitoring, intrusion detection or a guarantee against unauthorized access, malware or data loss. You remain responsible for your own network use, passwords, staff access and PCI DSS obligations as a merchant; we will help you with the annual questionnaire where our hardware-care plan says so. Card data is encrypted by the pin pad before it reaches your network.

6. No term

There is no minimum term on our hardware, software or processing. The one exception is the $0-upfront door, where hardware is paid for through the cash-discount program and leaving early means paying the remaining hardware balance, as stated on the pricing page.

7. Content and liability

We work to keep the Site accurate but do not promise it is free of errors. Comparisons with other products describe what we typically see and may not reflect every company's current terms; read yours. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Site.

8. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts sitting in Anchorage, Alaska.
